Beatrice and ashley's wedding
at Godwick hall & Great Barn
A beautiful wedding at Godwick Hall and Great Barn. A stunning 16th century barn wedding venue, in the heart of the Norfolk countryside. From getting ready in the stunning Hall to getting married in the Great Barn, this venue has it all.
Beautiful scenery, farm animals and a calming atmosphere.
Beatrice and Ashley chose Godwick Hall for their summer wedding.
With 45 day guests they described their day as relaxed, fun and chilled.
I arrived with Bea at around 10.30am and the girls were all very chilled but brimming with excitement for the day ahead. Everyone as emotional and there was lots of happy tears. Bea was surrounded by her lovely mum and sister and 4 gorgeous friends. They exchanged gifts, drank fizz and laughed so much.
Ashley was getting ready in the Hall too so was just downstairs. This meant I was able to capture them both getting ready myself without a second shooter. Ashley was getting ready with his brother who was best man, his best friend Phil [who is one of my previous grooms] and his dad and father in law.
Olive their gorgeous Labrador was also there in her bow tie and stealing the show!
a moment for olive!
Look how gorgeous she is!
The tractor took Bea and her bridesmaids down to the Great Barn and they had a beautiful indoor ceremony.
Bea and Ash opted for petal confetti. They were large petals rather than small and it showed up really well in the photos.
They had a short list of formal family shots - parents, grandparents and siblings with partners. We got these done in 10 minutes which left them lots of time to mingle with their guests during a 2 hour drinks reception before food.
We did some relaxed and fun group shots of the bridal party.
The girls insisted on picking Ashley up which was chaotic and amazing. I just love their reactions.
Before we all sat down for dinner, Bea and Ash hopped onto the tractor and we headed down to the ruin for some private couples portraits. It was a nice quiet moment for them to process their day so far and just have a breather.
Their decor was very complimentary of the barn space.
Tall tapered pink candles, white muslin centre draping, olive green napkins and bud vases with single stem pink roses.
So simple but so beautiful. Their flowers and wooden stands were moved from the ceremony space to the dining area.
I love it when venues repurpose the florals in a different area later in the day.
Speeches we before food. Traditional father of the bride speech followed by a lovely poem written by Beatrice's mum which was both really moving and hilarious. More mums speeches / poems please!
After dinner it was time to cut the cake and party!
Blow up Ashley also made an appearance...

Everyone at the wedding adored her and said she felt like a friend. Her energy was infectious and she was so much fun to have around.
