I received a lovely email enquiry from Lisa and Vanessa [Ness] in early 2023. They were planning their wedding and reached out to enquire about covering their day.

After a video call [where we mainly talked about our dogs and our mutual love of holidays] we decided 2 hours coverage was plenty for me to capture all the essentials for them.

As soon as I arrived at The Poets House in Ely, Cambridgeshire, Lisa and Ness made me so welcome and I felt like I had known them for years.

I knew this was going to be a great afternoon.

Lisa and Ness got ready together at the hotel and walk over to the ceremony room and down the aisle together.

Their ceremony was beautifully moving and very personal. Each reading their own vows and there wasn't a dry eye in the house [including mine]!

One of their friends gave a beautiful reading and another friend wrote a poem for them.

After the ceremony and once we had all rehydrated from all the crying, we headed outside for confetti.

Lisa had messaged me a few weeks before to check they had enough confetti. I absolutely love their confetti moments. These images prove that getting more confetti even when you think you have enough is always worth it.

Lisa and Ness opted for a mix of slow falling heart shaped paper and pink dried petal flower confetti.

Beautiful!

We spent some time doing a short list of group shots with their immediate family. They had mentioned on our original video call that they wanted their group shots to still be fun to really reflect them and their personalities. So I was absolutely thrilled when they produced a box of multi coloured streamers for some of their group shots.

Once everyone had enjoyed some canapés and drinks, the 3 of us headed off to get some couples photos.

Poets House is opposite Ely Cathedral so we walked over to take some photos in the grounds. We walked around and chatted and lots of people stopped to congratulate them and even take photos.

Lisa and Ness told me the story of how they met and how different their lives had been before they'd fallen in love. It always feels so special when people share their stories with me.

I can honestly say I left this wedding with my heart so full of love for them. Their friends and family treated me like another guest and I have been so blessed to shoot their lovely wedding.

Thanks ladies - it was my absolute pleasure to spend a few hours with you all.
